Honing in on already familiar postures, this class will coordinate them all together for a focused experience on hip opening postures through the perspective of the three doshas: Vata, Kapha, & Pitta. Each of the three classes will feature movement and flow, stability and softening, cooling and refreshing. The central focus of each class will be on the hips, knees and lower back and will employ yoga props (bolsters, blocks, wheels, straps and blankets) to help support, shape and encourage a stronger and safer hip opening practice.
Many of the poses will be taken from our traditional Open Vinyasa and Morning Vinyasa classes. New variations on old postures will be introduced, as well as new postures specific to the focus of hip opening.
These extended classes are the perfect way to to increase your stamina and perhaps to surprise yourself in your journey to push past the mind chatter as you find your new edge. Every class will end with a long and well-deserved final relaxation.
