Here’s a class for those mornings when you’re just having a slow start to the day. It’s also a great fit for end-of-day after a long and stressful day or as a class to ease you back in after healing from illness. This ‘mat optional’ practice moves us gently through foundational yoga postures with time to settle and receive the benefits of each posture.
This class has it all with sun salutations featuring a chatarunga tutorial and shaping drills as well as a chattagunga free (wrists, elbow, and shoulder friendly) sun salutation. We work with the heat from the sun salutation to utilize the breath and focus in moon inspired postures of revolved triangle, 1 leg squat, balancing half moon with a bind, and standing balancing pigeon. Cap off this 30 minute practice with alternate nostril breathing and a mindful minute and you’ll be on your way balanced and refreshed.
In this Morning Express (27 min long) we will begin low to the ground and work our way to standing postures as we move through sun salutations and moon flow postures. This practice ends with deeper hip openings and a time of meditation. It’s a perfect way to start your day!
This express class is suitable for those looking for a chair based class, is easy on the wrists, and takes time towards the end to open the shoulders and relieve neck tension. Practice it in the morning or add it to your lunch break at the office. You’ll enjoy a basic chair session with instruction on three-part breathing with a short meditation and relaxation at the end.
In this class we riff on the Sun Salutations to enjoy an energy balancing Chakra Flow. Learn about Chakra energy and using Chakras as centers for meditation to increase our awareness in this flowing class.
